Setting up your space

To maintain a healthy and balanced life, it is essential to take time for respite from the busy lifestyles we lead. Following a hard day's work or an adventurous day, everyone should have their own private time for resting. Sleep deprivation affects not only the person, but every aspect of the body, as well: anguish and mental tension are intensified, energy is depleted, and suddenly, everything becomes more difficult.

The process of regeneration involves recharging one's batteries in preparation for the next day. It is imperative that the home has at least one room set up for comfort, a place where a sense of relaxation flows naturally from both the mind and body. A regenerating home can be achieved through the following inspirations:

Cozy Lounging

Here is a beautiful illustration of how a living room can be set up to relax or to have a power nap. The room's color scheme is not too loud, characterized by earthy shades such as creamy beige, charcoal gray, and eggshell white. As a result, these colors are not distracting and will not disturb anyone attempting to rest or lounge in this room. A sense of peace and tranquility has also been infused into the design of this living room. It appears as if the chic/comfy couch is beckoning someone to lounge on it. A space bathed in natural sunlight is always a better option than artificial lighting. A plush white carpet and real plants complete the design, which is probably the best touch. Who wouldn't enjoy walking barefoot on this comfortable carpet and experiencing a little nature right in their living room?

Intimate bedroom

A bedroom is the most critical area for regeneration since it is a place of rest and sleep. With its soft and relaxing color tones and its cozy and inviting bed, the image is a beautiful source of inspiration for a bedroom. There are four stages to a night of good regenerating night sleep. During the early stages of sleep, our eyelids become heavy, yet our minds are still somewhat alert but sleepy. During the second stage, we become much less aware, our body temperature drops, and our heart rates and respiratory rhythms become more even and regulated. Finally, the third stage occurs when the muscles begin to relax and the blood pressure and breathing decrease, setting the stage for deep sleep's final and most critical phase. Interestingly, the deep phase of sleep is when the body immobilizes and releases all tensions to regenerate; however, it is also when the brain begins to activate for dreams to occur. Among the stages of sleep, the final stage is considered the most important as it is the only one that provides proper rest and recovery.

Kitchen

As the heart of a home, the kitchen represents prosperity, nourishment, and health according to traditional Feng Shui principles. You can raise the vibration of your home by making these minor adjustments to your kitchen, which will serve you and your family well.

Stove

The stove symbolizes wealth and reflects what is happening in your life. Leaving your stove unused can indicate that you are ignoring opportunities or untapped resources. So, use it as often as possible and ensure that it is always kept clean.

Refrigerator

Maintain a fresh food supply by removing all old or stale items as soon as possible. Keep magnets to a minimum as they tend to attract people, encourage excessive consumption, and can increase the clutter in your home.

Table

A round dining table is best for digestion and communication. If you live in a tiny NYC apartment like me and do not have space for a table, use your counter or island as a sacred space for eating. For better digestion, keep your dining area clutter-free.

Sink

According to TCM, dripping faucets can indicate that money is being wasted. Sinks also serve as breeding grounds for illnesses-causing bacteria, such as E -oli, salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus, which can be easily transferred from hands to food. Maintaining your kitchen sink clean daily prevents the development of germs and other bacteria. Keeping a Berkey water filter near my sink makes it easy to refill, encouraging me to maintain hydration.

Color & Décor

Generally speaking, the best kitchen colors are white, blue, green, or earthy tones. Colors associated with fire (red, pink, or purple) should be avoided as they can be agitating and cause excessive eating. A fresh bouquet of flowers or fruit on your counter symbolizes surplus and prosperity.

Garden enjoyment

Taking some time to enjoy the sun is known to be highly rejuvenating. By absorbing the sun's natural light, the body can absorb calcium for the skeleton and maintain a positive mood. Create a charming outdoor area perfect for sunbathing, reading a book, or spending time with loved ones.

Bathroom paradise

The purpose of resting is to let go in some way and to immerse yourself in a state of comfort and relaxation. The experience of taking a warm shower after completing a long day at work or before going to sleep is like being in a little piece of paradise with its calming properties that assist in regeneration. In addition to feeling better about one's appearance, taking care of oneself reduces one's stress.
